Item Damaged In Transit for Grocery Items is a Buyer's Trick to Get It for FREE

Item damaged in transit, item expired or will expire soon or item not as described are well used buyers's tricks to get grocery items for free.

Grocery items are non-returnable, so buyers have to be a little inventive to get a refund on those items and they are theirs to keep.

Can't Amazon just bother to aks buyers who are claiming refunds to send them a photo of a damaged product prior to issuing a refund or a photo of the product with an expiration date on it? I am sure that would cut down the number of refunds based on the above claims by 90%.

I am sure (and this is confirmed by many similar posts on this forum) this is a buyer's way to get a grocery item for free.

I order lots of groceries on Amazon, and some of them are damaged during shipping because they were not packed very well.

If you sell anything packed in a glass bottle, be sure to pack it securely BEFORE shipping your items to Amazon.

Beverages in cans also often do not survive shipping from Amazon.

Expiration dates are sometimes a problem.

Amazon should not be shipping anything with a short date. For example, fresh chicken delivered on 6 April with a sell-by date of 8 April. Just NO!

Most buyers do not ask for refunds to get free stuff. We just want to get what we ordered, in decent condition.

If there are problems with an item, I always ask for a replacement, rather than a refund. I want what I ordered, not a broken bottle or a leaking can.
