Can Amazon update to match official ISBN info from Bowker (error 8572)

I've been trying to list a book with an ISBN. I keep getting error 8572. Customer service keeps saying it needs a GS1 certificate. Books use ISBN, not UPC. How do I get help with this?

Is this a book you printed yourself? Amazon Seller Central is not optimized for new titles - they want you to go through Ingram or a professional distributor such as IPG, or do print on demand through Amazon KDP or IngramSpark.

I'm also having a similar issue, I suspect that Amazon has reclaimed my product creation permissions, because I see that the product category permissions to view sales applications have all become, pesticides and insecticidal devices, which means that Amazon's system upgrade has turned your account into a zombie account, and nothing can be done! And your official website doesn't know anything, and keeps replying that there is a problem with your brand, there is a problem with your UPC/EAN, your code is wrong, and your authorization does not match the brand, they are all a bunch of fools, fools!

This has been resolved. It took a lot of talking to customer service to convince them that there is no GS1 certification for an ISBN. (Since the 978 or 979 of any ISBN is the GS1 certification that the number is dedicated to published material.) Bowker issues ISBNs and the preceding statement if from them. After a long while with the "team" they fixed the listing by using the data from Bowker.
