Tell me how my invoice helps you find my missing items

I've had 2 shipments, one with 44 items and one with 29 items, get delivered, received, checked in and sent to various warehouse's go to 0 items received all of the sudden. I ask Amazon to investigate the missing items, not for reimbursements, and they ask for invoices. Can someone please explain to me how a piece of paper is going to help them find my missing inventory? They have the tracking for the items. I can see the warehouses they went to on my FBA inventory ledger page. Will my invoice guide them to the items and better yet, stop this from happening?

Hi @Seller_C3AUOvbR1WTur, I can see how frustrating this is. Amazon does require some documents to investigate items missing from a shipment.

Proof of inventory ownership: Proof of inventory ownership will help identify any potential discrepancies that may have occurred. Some examples of acceptable documents are an invoice from a supplier, receipt from another seller, or signed packing slip if you are a manufacturer. The following information must be provided:

Date of purchase

Product names matching the missing products

Quantity

Full name and address of the invoice issuer

Full name and address of the purchaser

Proof of delivery: For LTL or FTL shipments, a bill of lading showing the number of boxes in the shipment and the total weight when it was picked up by the carrier. The document must be stamped by Amazon confirming that the shipment was received and signed for at the fulfillment center. Your carrier should have a copy of this document. This information helps verify that the entire shipment was picked up and shipped as expected.

There are some things listed here to double check on your end to avoid shipment issues.
