Unfair Trade Practice by a Seller for IKEA Products

I am writing to bring to your attention a serious violation being committed by a seller. It has come to notice that this seller is incorrectly mapping IKEA Amazon ASIN under their own trademark, which is both incorrect and illegal.

Furthermore, the seller is sending violation messages to other sellers, falsely claiming that they are selling his product. This act not only infringes upon IKEA’s trademark rights but also misleads other sellers and customers on the platform.

We believe that such actions are against Amazon’s policy and detrimental to the marketplace’s integrity. We kindly request Amazon to investigate this matter thoroughly and take appropriate action against the seller for this violation.

We appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and trust that Amazon will uphold its commitment to maintaining a fair and trustworthy marketplace for all its sellers and customers.

Yes I have also noticed, many ASINs which are not owned by this seller. They are mapping it to their brand and restricting other. Seriously pathetic practice. Amazon should take serious action against this seller

I understand your concern, and it's indeed a complex issue. As per the current regulations, selling a brand's product under one's name is permissible unless the brand owner officially reports trademark infringement. Similarly, buyers can raise inauthentic complaints, but these are typically acted upon only if the seller is directly using the trademark.

However, there's a potential loophole to consider: if the seller isn't directly using the trademark but is selling the product under their own name or brand, the manufacturing company may have grounds to pursue legal action, especially if the product design is registered. It's important to note that such cases would typically be handled through legal channels rather than Amazon's platform, as their resources for managing legal disputes are limited.

In this situation, it might be advisable to explore legal options outside of Amazon's platform if the infringement persists and if the manufacturing company believes their rights are being violated. Amazon may still investigate the matter internally, but ultimate resolution may require legal intervention.

I hope this sheds some light on the situation.
