Are Amazon ads really worth it (considering their cost)?

Hello guys

I sell cheap DVDs on Amazon (£10 to £15) and I have been using Amazon ads for some months but half the time the sales that are attributed to them are less than what Amazon charges me which means often I end up having to allocate several orders just to cover their cost without making anything extra....

The rest of the time when I do make extra to get there I still have to allocate several orders to cover their cost and hence the profit only starts after their cost is covered which is not ideal.... And on the best days the sales allocated to the ads are never more than 2.5 times what I spend which is not that fantastic (and this is one of 5 days at the most)...

On top of that I have the impression that they are often wasted on foreigners who are looking at Amazon UK (I only sell in the UK) which seems to be an absurd waste of my money...

Can you guys honestly tell me if they are worth it?...

Do they actually increase traffic to our stores on Amazon?...

Do they help sale items that are not counted as attributed to them or exclusively those attributed as having been sold throught them?...

Are they only worth it when selling more expensive items?...

I look forward to hearing back from you guys

Thank you everyone

Unless you are selling DVDs that you have produced yourself, I can't see the point of Amazon ads for DVDs or BMVD in general.

DVDs are open to pretty much anyone who hasn't been gated so I don't understand how ads would work (to be fair, I don't understand Amazon ads full stop).

Incidentally, I wouldn't call £10-15 cheap for DVDs. The vast majority of used DVD titles on Amazon are available for under £3.50 including postage...
