UPC Codes

I bought 10 UPC codes from barcodesmania.com and it says on their site it's GS1 certified and all. When I try to make a listing for my product it gives me a 8572 error repeatedly. I have seen videos online of people using barcodes from this website and it tends to work for them.

That was probably our first mistake, watching videos.

What used to work in the past no longer works on Amazon. Maybe those codes would work on ebay or walmart, but not Amazon.

Amazon now checks your barcode against the GS1 database. Not just to see if it is registered but it checks is against the data you enter. So if the manufacturer or brand you enter do not match what GS1 has then the UPC cannot be used.

Hi there @Seller_SLUCotpXB9TOP,

As mentioned by other Sellers Amazon will only allow Sellers to use Valid UPCs to create product listings. If you get your UPCs from any other source outside GS1 it is unlikely that they will be accepted. You may want to take a moment to review Amazon's policies in Seller University as this may prepare you better than videos from Youtube which may not be accurate or up to date with current policies. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
