Retail Arbitrage

Hey everyone, so I'm new to Amazon FBA and I had a few questions. I was thinking about doing retail arbitrage first because it seemed the most straightforward, but I am just getting more confused. When applying to get approved to sell certain products, Amazon asks for invoices with my full name and address. My question is how do most resellers buy stuff from tjmaxx/ross/costco and sell it on Amazon without an invoice? The only thing you get from the stores are receipts and that is not a valid form of invoice from what I have read on reddit and the seller's forum. Is it because I am new and need to get ungated in these categories? And does anyone have any recommendations on what to do when first doing Amazon FBA to get ungated? Tyia!

RA doesn't work on Amazon anymore. You need to start a relationship with a valid supplier/distributor and find something that isn't already saturated in the marketplace.

Most brands have pulled back allowances for Amazon sales.

Amazon requires invoice/s for all units which been proceed through FBA or FBM for the past 365 days. So, if you sold 50 units, you need invoice/s for at least 50 units. Moreover, Amazon doesn't accept all forms of invoices. Bots match an invoice, if it doesn't match with there forms they just reject one. We had a lot of issues with approvals and managed to understand how to overcome ones. If you need help, PM me.

As the others have noted, and for emphasis to you (and all the other TikTok and YouTube followers that simply can't follow Amazon Seller U) --

NOTE – FOR 'GATED' CATEGORIES' DOING RA IS NOT PERMITTED ON AMAZON. PERIOD. If you have to 'apply to sell' you WILL need an INVOICE from an AUTHORIZED distributor and not a receipt.

For areas that Amazon has not gated SO FAR people still get away with it but their days are numbered.

Hi @Seller_kv1ETvMYrnZW2, other sellers have given good advice here, but to summarize - Retail arbitrage is not advisable as you will not be able to provide the necessary documentation. You will need to provide valid invoices (note that invoices are not the same as receipts from a retailer), from authorized distributors if you are selling products that are branded. Dropshipping also frequently comes into discussion on this kind of topic, so let me link you to this educational post that was made recently!
