Resolving Stranded FBA inventory

Be sure to upvote or downvote this thread if you find it helpful or not!

Stranded inventory is FBA inventory in fulfillment centers that does not have an associated active offer and thus is not available for sale on Amazon. When inventory is stranded, it requires either reactivating the listing or removing inventory.

When you delete or close a listing, or change it from Fulfilled by Amazon to Fulfilled by Merchant, it might strand your inventory. Product listing issues, infringement concerns, or system errors can also result in stranded inventory.

Amazon will notify you about stranded inventory in three ways:

• By email

• On Fix Stranded Inventory

• Under Fix stranded inventory in the Notification section of your Inventory Dashboard

Resolving stranded inventory depends entirely on the reason the inventory was stranded in the first place. This page in Seller Central has a comprehensive table that includes the various stranded inventory reason codes, and the additional information you will need to resolve it.

If your inventory remains stranded, you receive an email notification from Amazon. 30 days after this notification, your inventory will be automatically removed. If you have designated Amazon to accelerate the removal of stranded inventory, the units will be removed more quickly.

To learn more, review this Seller University video on Stranded Inventory.

If you have any additional tips for handling stranded inventory, let me know in the comments! You can also reference this thread as a resource if you run into other sellers who have questions on resolving stranded inventory.

Why don't we talk about why Amazon's AI falsely flags Product Listing issues or false infringement concerns?

Why are Amazon system errors the sellers responsibility?

Why should sellers have to pay storage fees or removal fees/disposal fees when listings are falsely flagged or Amazon has a system error?
