2 accounts by mistake

I’m looking for some advice regarding a situation I’m facing with my Seller Central account.

A few years ago, I created a Seller Central account, but due to some complications, I wasn’t able to move forward and had no activity on the account. Now that I’m ready to start selling on Amazon, I logged back in and found the account deactivated due to a violation of the multiple selling accounts policy.

Here’s what I think happened: When I initially started creating the account, I mistakenly used the wrong email address. I stopped the registration process midway because I wanted to use a different email for such an important account. I then created a new account with the correct email, which was approved and ready to use. The first account was never completed or approved.

Now, when I try to log in to the old, unfinished account, it prompts me to complete the registration, but I don’t want to do that as it will create two active accounts, violating the policy. I haven’t done anything on the old account and just want it deleted, but I’m not sure how to handle this without triggering further issues.

It won't create 2 active accounts, because your second account will be deactivated for "related" or an affiliation.

Yes, that is the only way forward. You MUST resolve the issues with that account before you can do anything with it, including closing it. And while it is open, it IS linked to your new account; when one account is deactivated, ALL linked accounts are also deactivated.

You have to finish the registration on the first account. As far as it being a violation, you've already passed that point.

You have to remove the other account because I had the same problem.

Amazon will work with you if your going to delete the other account, they worked with me and I was able to get rid of the other account but Support depended on me to know the email address to remove account.

Get rid of that extra account or you might lose yours.

Just stating that two different accounts are not permitted.

Good luck, Global Insights.

This (similar) happened to me as well. Click on the red text at the top of your seller page that asks you to submit info to reactivate your account, but rather than submitting any info, click on the option that says "CALL ME NOW". Someone from seller performance will promptly call you and explain what you need to do and what info to submit. They helped me get back up and running the same day.

Thank you for the information provided regarding the issues you have been seeing. I understand you had previously attempted to register an account, but had not completed the verification. This would cause an issue to any new account created as you would still be associated to the previous one.

Even if you have completed the verification on a newly created account, you will still need to go back and complete the initial request as mentioned in the thread.

Once you have completed the verification and resolved the account restrictions, you can submit an appeal on the new account to confirm the resolution. Our team will then take the appropriate action on the newly created account.

Once both accounts are in an active status, you can take action with our team to close down the account that you do not wish to operate. If you have any other questions or concerns, please continue to refer to this thread for support.

Best,

Atlas
