Can anyone explain this scam to me because I can't figure it out!
"I haven't received my package yet,This makes me very helpless. Why did my package disappear?"
This is clearly someone who thinks they can pass as an English speaker.
Okay, so "Edward" messages me and says he didn't receive his package. I checked, shipped on Feb 28, delivered on March 1. Only it wasn't mailed to Edward, it was mailed to a lady at a street address. I looked up the address on google and it is a university research building. I called and left messages, I wanted to know how mail is received, and how it gets to the people who place the order. Come to find out the Lady is the head of purchasing and had ordered it for one of the scientists and he sent her a photo showing he had received the product, it had been received and already being used. No one there has ever heard of "Edward."
In the meantime, Edward is messaging me, insisting I give him a refund.
Here's what I don't understand. The lady checked her Amazon accounts and that order number does not exist in her account, nor has she been charged for the order on any of her company credit cards. But, the charge went through somewhere or I would not have received the order, right? She did place the order. She did receive the order but she hasn't been charged and she doesn't have the order in her Amazon orders. The Fraudster, Edward, (can I tell you his last name?) is insisting on a refund so somehow he'd get the money if Amazon were to refund.
Here's just some more info ... The address is for a University research building. No one lives there. He said: " My address is correct, I saw the photo, I passed there every day, but I never saw the package, I also asked my family and neighbors, they all said no, I have not received the package so far, the package may be lost, it has been too long, I no longer need this product, please refund me." Just a garbled mess, right? Sounds like a cut and paste from a "Scammer: How To Get Rich Quick" Youtube video. Family and Neighbors? He's just repeating what other sellers have told him to do when he scammed them. Check with family and neighbors. There are no family or neighbors at that building. He saw the picture? What, on google maps? How did he get the lady's name? So Weird! He's done this before. Last name Bessie. There are four accounts under that name on FB, all the same guy, all in Indonesia.
When I first started selling online in the late 90s, I got scammed four times. First time Russia and I turned Russia off. All of the other times Indonesia. I had it turned off but it came through my website and naive greedy little me (25 years ago) got so excited to see such great orders off my website! LOL. Always stolen credit cards that somehow got through Paypal but charged back a couple of months later. Anyway, I still can't see how this works. The Lady ordered and received the order. She wasn't charged. But somehow Edward is in control. How does he make money on the deal, even if he receives a refund didn't he also get charged somehow? When it happened to me on my website 25 years ago, I shipped them the product. Which they ended up getting for free but this one I don't get. I'm so confused. I see the scam. I don't understand the scam.
How many non receipts have I received where the buyer name is completely different from the recipient? Quite a few. How many were scams? I'll bet 99.999999%. Anyone recognize this guy's name? Did he do it to you too?
I don't want to hear nasty comments about how I'm not allowed to contact customers. I didn't. I called and asked how they receive their mail, the lady called me back and asked if there was a problem and was willing to talk. She has had fraud on six of her company cards but none in the last month. That she knows of. Could this guy be using one of the cards that has already been canceled? How is that possible.

Edward is the guy who drop ships the order from Amazon to his customer and has you ship direct to his customer.
Did lady at university order your product off Amazon directly or another site? Sounds like edward has another website or ASIN and dropships from Amazon sellers to fulfill orders.

As @Seller_7LrAV0m5llaI7states, the lady ordered from Edward, he ordered from you, that is why the order no. is different. No idea why she doesn't see a charge, maybe it will show up on her card later?
I had someone try this on me as well, but once I sent her the confirmation scan of receipt, I never heard from her again. I would send one reply to Edward with the scan info showing delivered, maybe mention that you have spoken to the recipient and they were thrilled with their purchase. Then click No Reply Needed if he continues messaging. If you didn't get sig. confirmation you might get a A-Z.

She got back to me. It's all clear now, she went in on Walmart and bought, not Amazon. I just went through last week and told the dropshippers to take down all of my listings. Guess it's time to sign up there and get them kicked off officially. What I read on FB, though, they support their sellers even less than here, so I've been hesitant.
I don't see a way to end this thread. If no one else would respond so it goes away I'd appreciate it. Thank you

Well, he filed an A to Z today and got all of his money back. Amazon funded so I'm not out anything, just really angry. This Chinese company on Walmart got their money from the customer, they ordered from me and I shipped it thinking she was my customer, now the scumbag Walmart seller filed A to Z with Amazon and got all of their money back. There is no way for me to add any notes or tell anyone the truth and get the guy kicked off. The customer did get her product. Makes me so mad.

Hi @Seller_52pUzzgnsLDGs,
I'm glad to hear that Amazon ultimately funded the A-to-Z claim for you. However, I am wondering if you reported this order and the buyer through the Report Abuse button on your Account Health page? We encourage sellers to always report suspicious buying or selling behavior to this link.
If you have already done so, you can provide me with the complaint ID and order ID so I can take a closer look as well to see if I can help escalate the report.
