EAN already used by someone for the incorrect product

Hi everyone,

I have found a few posts describing similar situations but with no solution.

I have got a product (marker pen) with EAN on it. The product is sourced directly from the manufacturer in the EU. I have verified with GS1 and the EAN definitely belongs to my supplier.

Unfortunately, someone has used this EAN to list a completely different product (t-shirt) under another brand.

I know that it will not be easy to fix this.

Is there anyone who faced the same problem and can suggest how to proceed?

Thank you.

Can anyone help me with this?

I am trying to sort it out for over a month.

The discussion with Selling Partner “Support” and Amazon Brand Registry “Support” went round and round in circles.

Now they have removed the case from my Case Log and I am unable to reopen the case.

Case ID was 8918377122.

Thank you.

EDIT: The case just moved to the next page. Anyway, they are not helping at all.

Its probably an old EAN that has been reissued, not a lot you can do about it unfortunately

When I tried to list something earlier using a duplicate EAN it told me that I could appear to support with the GS1 certificate to get exemption, but I do not want to be the one explaining that the seller support. Also getting a hold of the GS1 certificate depends how friendly you are with your manufacturer, and if Amazon will even do anything since you don’t actually own the EAN

Easier option would be to buy your own eans, or to sell it on Ebay
