Text in main image for custom TEXT decals
Hi everyone, I have been trying amazon seller support for a good week now, but they are as useless as they have always been. Not reading my messages and replying with meaningless copy-pasted stuff.
Anyways, I have currently opened a new listing, almost identical to this one of the other seller (just an example for you): https://www.amazon.com/Personalized-Design-Your-Own-Name/dp/B0929CTV96/
The problem is I see a LOT of other sellers using text in main image, because it makes sense for custom cut stickers, but Amazon keeps suppressing my image for doing the same (text in image).
Does anyone have any idea how to go around it so I could start selling it? Already been selling for a week on all other platform, but amazon has to be very special as always. It makes no sense to remove that text because that's what the product is and because everybody elkse somehow has that on their listings with no issues at all.

The bots got you. I have had pictures with a whole lot less than this. CSA treat the bot like god and they will not go against it for any reason. Even if it makes sense. Even if they tell you to file an appeal. CSA do not have the ability to apply common sense.

What you need to do is find something similar that is allowed as a main photo and make the current photo a second picture.

We have had to live with a similar problem since we first started Selling on Amazon.
We offer 4 different "Breaking Bad" vinyl decals for sale. These 4 images were sold together, not as separate units, but they each have their own unique UPC code. Purchased from recognized and authorized Wholesale Distributor that Amazon themselves uses to purchase inventory from.
All 4 of these ASINs are Amazon Retail Team Listings, NOT "OUR" listings, as such, we have ZERO control over editing them.
All 4 of the decals display the text "Breaking Bad" in the product itself, as you might expect.
HOWEVER...
2 of the decals were ALWAYS accepted by Amazon (ASINs B00MHYVV0K & B00MHYYVC0) even though they contain text in the body of the actual product.
And 2 of the decals were, and remain "Search Suppressed" by Amazon because "the main image has text, logo, graphic or watermark which is not permitted for this product type". (ASINs B00MHZ0M68 & B00MHZ3GIO).
Back when Seller Support Telephone support still operated, this reoccurring problem was repeatedly reported to Seller Support Catalog Team, who would do the following:
1) Agree that these ASINs should NOT be "Search Suppressed"
2) Complain that this was and is an Amazon SOFTWARE problem that is mis-identifying the ASIN as having the listed problem even though they CLEARLY do NOT.
3) They would manually edit and "Fix" the problem, removing the "Search Suppression"
4) They would warn me that the Amazon software that suppressed the ASIN in error would ALMOST CERTAINLY DO IT AGAIN, and that WHEN it happens to call them.
Well, they are all gone now.
They have all been replaced by worker-bees who have ZERO authority to resolve the problems. These employees only exist to quote back to you what you can read for yourself in the 'bot generated response you always receive when creating a case with Amazon. They are useless 99% of the time, and since most are based in 3rd world countries, most have a difficult time even understanding the problem.
As long as Software is in control of decisions concerning what inventory Amazon 3rd Party Sellers may or may not list on the platform, problems like yours (and mine) are unlikely to EVER be resolved. A.I. is just NOT "Smart enough" to understand the difference between non-policy watermark and legitimate Text in a product.
Be grateful that you have an alternate platform to sell on, and that it is selling there. Based on how 2023 has gone, you are not the first to move-away from Amazon...
And unless Amazon realizes it's fundamental error and restores MEANINGFUL AND AUTHORIZED HUMAN INTERFACE for 3rd Party Sellers, you will NOT be last to join the exodus.
