What happens to your listings if you end your membership with GS1 barcodes?
I originally signed up for GS1 barcodes and have 2 products that I created the product detail page with those UPC's. Basically, those two products aren't technically GTIN exempt. Since then I have become GTIN exempt and no longer need the GS1 barcodes. Does anyone forsee any issues if I stop paying for the barcodes. Will my two product detail pages that I registered with GS1 UPC's have any issuess. I am GTIN exempt in the categories that those products are in. I don't see a reason to pay the GS1 yearly fee if were just selling on our website and on Amazon. Thanks!

Hi @Mr_Profits,
Thanks for the post.
We verify the authenticity of product UPCs by checking the GS1 database. UPCs that do not match the information provided by GS1 will be considered invalid. All invalid product UPC listings will be removed and may result in your ASIN creation or selling privileges being temporarily or permanently removed.

I contacted Amazon customer support and they told me because I'm GTIN exempt we won't have any issues with our listings that have GS1 UPC's attached to them after we end our membership with GS1. I'm hoping they were correct. We plan on ending our GS1 membership because we are GTIN exempt and don't need to carry that particular expense.
Our fears were the listings that we created with GS1 UPC's might be affected.
From Amazons customer service's response this is not the case as were GTIN exempt.
Let me know what you think?

Note you can buy from other sites that sell GS1 codes that don't expire. GS1 is way more expensive but sites like upcs.com sell GS1 codes for Amazon way cheaper. It's what we've used for years.
