Help! How to get Amazon permission to sell brand name baby products

I'll be honest here and tell you exactly what I'm looking to achieve - hopefully you can help! I'm exploring selling brand name baby products, such as pacifiers by brands like Philips Avent. However, when I search for pacifiers on Amazon, the only people selling them are the companies themselves (Philips, Mam, etc.). Am I missing something here? As an individual seller, am I not allowed to compete with the companies and sell wholesale pacifiers of their brand name (the real thing, not counterfeit), if I have a distributor? I guess I'm surprised no one else is doing this, and I don't know if there's something I just don't know. On Amazon, when I request to sell, it asks me to upload an invoice from a "manufacturer or distributor". Is that really all I need to do? I don't want to purchase from a supplier/distributor in bulk, and then have Amazon prevent me from selling.

Yes you are missing quite a bit. Two large peices are complaince and intellectual property.

Any item for an infant or child has compliance requirements. These requirements become inconsistant when resellers join the supply chain.

When a company sells thier own product on Amazon they are very unlikely to authorize a reseller to compete with them. Its thier trademark/copywrite/patent and you need authorization from the brand to use it. Buying in bulk does not authorize you.

Be wary of some “distributors” selling returns, close outs and recalled items. Your distributor should be authorized from the manufacturer and should have the answers you seek.

Hi @Seller_vjvn1EoXGQMQo,

The information provided by @Seller_Qbd0RsfZFEZBY and @Seller_h6yoKUamdWsr6 is correct. In order to sell in some products, categories , and brands Amazon requires you get approval. For any product you should ensure that you have appropriate sourcing of your inventory and that you understand all the policies for the category or product type you intend to sell. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Have a good day.
